Patricia Cochran has endeavored since early childhood to capture the magical essence of the horse into a variety of artistic mediums. Her current, and perhaps most successful, effort is the oil painting created for the centennial celebration of the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America. A limited edition of 100 giclee prints, one for each year of the Society’s existence, was made from this oil painting. Cochran’s art, which encompasses a variety of subject matter, has been juried into exhibitions at the Portland Art Museum, the Coos Bay Art Museum, as well as shows in Oregon and Montana. She teaches art at a large public high school in Hillsboro, OR.
Pat lives with her husband, Del Ramey, on a small farm in the fertile Tualatin Valley in northwest Oregon. Constantly inspired by the sweeping beauty of the land, it is there that she maintains her studio and raises Section A Welsh Mountain Ponies under the Lochinvar prefix.
