Photos of Special Ponies

Our first reg. Welsh pony, WoodRidge Audacity was foaled and purchased by us in 1986. Addie is a sparkling, Sec. B showmare and won many championships for us, incl. Sup. Ch. And a Nat’l. Championship. Owned and adored by Sharon McHone of Idaho.

1963—1992
Candy was our very first pony. Of mixed ancestry, we euphemistically called her a “Welsh Cross”. She was 22 years young when she arrived to educate us in the joys of pony ownership. Candy forgot more tricks than most ponies ever learn!

Lane’s Sun Dance was a star performer before he ever arrived at Lochinvar. A veteran driving and jumping pony, he served in both capacities and was a very special friend to Emily until she sadly, out grew him. The lessons learned from Dancer were enormous and life long.

1974 –1998
Kayruss Poppie’s legacy at Lochinvar is through her two outstanding daughters, L. Pandora and L. Patience but Poppie was also an incredible driving pony. She was great teacher.

Dainty Fyre, a 1/2 Welsh, 1/2 Arab mare (Welara), was purchased in 1993 for Allison. Both mare and child were 12 years old at the time! They formed a close bond and Dainty carried Allison through many lessons, shows, and trail rides. A very sensible mare, Dainty was the best of both breeds. Sold to Debbie Fisk in 1997, where she is still.

One of the great pleasures of owning ponies is to give a youngster that first pony ride! We always try to do it bareback so they can feel the warmth and movement underneath them. Look at the smiles! Here L. Patience does the honors.
